DraftKings has inked a multi-year sports betting partnership with the Nashville Predators ahead of its mobile app launch in Tennessee.
Under the deal that was announced last Thursday, the Boston-based company will become the official daily fantasy sports provider and official online sports betting operator of the Nashville-based professional ice hockey team. Both the Predators and DraftKings will work together to provide new ways for fans to engage with the sport. Another interesting thing to mention here is that this is Predator’s first-ever sports betting partnership.
Timing Could Be No Better!
The most significant thing about the deal is the timing, which could not be better as it comes just weeks after legal sports betting was launched in Tennessee on November 1. Now, NHL bettors will find wagering on the Predators via the DraftKings app a seamless experience. The app will provide the most accurate and updated team data to Predators’ fans throughout the season. Furthermore, it is also good for daily fantasy sports, as the sportsbook operator is also the official provider for DFS content.
Nashville Predator’s Chief Revenue Officer, Chris Junghans, said the team began its search for an experienced sports betting partner as soon as the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act was passed in April. He added that now they are excited to announce their formal relationship with industry-leading DraftKings.
“Through this multi-year deal, Predators fans across the Volunteer State will have access to the gold standard of sports betting information technology, offering a competitive, responsible, and reliable platform.” Junghans added that they look forward to entering the new era of the state’s sports fandom together, and also to witnessing everything that the partnership would bring to Tennessee and Predators’ fans.
As the Predators’ official partner, DraftKings will now add branding and content to the NHL team’s home, Bridgestone Arena. The sportsbook will also add signage on the Lexus Lounge LED screen during home matches. Predators radio broadcasts will also feature the operator’s betting lines, both before and during the action. In addition, the two entities will also converge to create digital and social media content. Occasionally, DraftKings will manage the Predators’ homepage and sponsor giveaways on social media. The NHL team has a newsletter which will now include the DraftKings brand.
With a view to providing deeper engagement for diehard fans, the partnership will allow the Predators to attract fans to hockey by offering a welcome bonus of up to $1,000 while signing up with DraftKings by downloading its mobile app. Fans can access DraftKings sportsbook and daily fantasy sports apps anywhere in the state by visiting DraftKings.com or simply downloading the DraftKings app via Android and iOS.
While expressing the thrill over joining with Predators, DraftKings Chief Business Officer, Ezra Kucharz, said the operator wants to continue its momentum in the state. Kucharz added that this collaboration would bring the full DraftKings experience to Predators fans, both on and off the ice.
Tennessee Sports Betting
The Volunteer State recently launched the unprecedented online-only sports betting industry on November 1, 2020. The Predators grabbed the best opportunity by partnering with DraftKings to embark on one of the top brands in the US.
The state lawmakers approved the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act in the 2019 legislative session, allowing sportsbooks to function legally in the state. With the latest deal between DraftKings and Predators, Tennessee sports bettors will begin to see the benefits of regulated betting in the state.
