Welcome to the Spooky Express’s weekly golf breakdown, where we dive in head first to this week’s Euro Tour Golf tournament and look for your best options for betting. In this week’s article, we will take a look at the course, course history, recent form and many other variables that we feel will have a bearing on the outcome of this week’s tournament.
Without any further delay, let’s take a look at the ISPS Handa Wales Open.
The pro’s of the Euro Tour remain in Wales this week, playing for the second week in a row at The Celtic Manor Resort in the City of Newport, Wales for the ISPS Handa Wales Open. It is very uncommon for a tournament to be held at the same location as the week prior, but this week due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the cancellation of many tournaments, that is exactly what we have with the ISPS Handa Wales Open.

Twenty Ten Course
The ISPS Handa Wales Open is played at The Celtic Manor Resort in the City of Newport, Wales. The Celtic Manor Resort’s Twenty Ten Course was designed by Ross McMurray, with the sole purpose of playing the 2010 Ryder Cup. When this course was designed, it was the only course to have been built for one specific reason.
The Twenty Ten Course is just under 7500 yards in total length but don’t put all your eggs in one basket, thinking that distance is more important than what it actually is, we will explain a bit better later. The pro’s of the Euro Tour have had an easy few weeks but last week showed us that this week is a tougher course, than what they’ve played on in recent weeks.
ISPS Handa Wales Open System Attributes
This week is pretty simple for System Attributes. We look at how the golfers did last week and what was important for success last week in the Celtic Classic. First and foremost, Driving Distance, as we said earlier, doesn’t have as much of an impact as you would think with the course being nearly 7,500 yards.
That said, pay more attention to the Tee-To-Green numbers and overall form. Both of those strategies will get you further in this tournament. Look at last week, see who did well and then compare that to how they are doing overall with their form.
Single Wagers To Win
Gavin Green +2800 at WagerWeb
Our top play this week in the ISPS Handa Wales Open is Gavin Green at +2800 over on WagerWeb. Green played here last week and again was one of the best golfers on the course, finishing in 11th place. That was his 10th out of 11 tournaments where he finished inside the Top 35, including six Top 21’s. Green has yet to win on the European Tour but he has finished inside the Top 5 countless times. With Green facing a weaker field this week vs. last week, he should improve his placing and we think serves one of the best chances at winning!!!
