The Dean of Goa Medical College and in-charge of the state’s COVID hospitals, Dr. Shivanand Bandekar said on Wednesday that Goa could also make it mandatory for visitors to present negative RT-PCR tests like Maharashtra has done.
He said, “When we travel to Mumbai or Maharashtra, they ask for a RT-PCR test done 48 and 72 hours prior to travel. It is my personal view, but our government can also ask visitors to show their RT-PCR test and then travel.”
“This will help filter out positive cases, who automatically not only won’t come to Goa, but the person will also know that he or she is positive,” he continued. Goa has seen a drastic decrease in the number of cases and deaths with mortalities not seen on most days.
