- Leeds United’s Premier League fixtures have averaged 3.7 goals per 90 minutes this season.
- Both teams have scored in 67% of Brighton’s Premier League matches this term.
- Leeds collected maximum points in each of their last two Premier League home games.
- Brighton have won just twice in 18 Premier League assignments this season.
Leeds always exciting
Leeds have been the Premier League’s great entertainers this season, and their cavalier approach under Marcelo Bielsa should produce more goals and excitement when Brighton visit Elland Road on Saturday.
United were left red-faced on Sunday however, when they were soundly beaten and eliminated from the FA Cup by League Two outfit Crawley Town in a 3-0 reverse that followed hot on the heels of defeat by the same margin at Tottenham in the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa’s charges took maximum points in each of their last two league assignments at Elland Road however, and a third win there on the bounce could follow this weekend.
Brighton impress at City
Brighton gave a good account of themselves against title favourites Manchester City in mid-week and despite their eventual 1-0 defeat, there were plenty of positives for the Seagulls to take from a solid showing at the Etihad Stadium.
Albion’s neat approach play caused the Citizens plenty of problems in Manchester, and Brighton’s football certainly seemed to impress Pep Guardiola, who was full of compliments for his opponents after full time.
Expect goals at Elland Road
Leeds’ gung-ho game-plan guarantees action in both penalty areas and the Yorkshiremen’s Premier League fixtures have produced more goals than any other club’s this season (63 in 17 games).
Only four teams have registered more attempts on goal than Leeds overall this season, while only two sides have conceded more shots per game on average than Bielsa’s barnstormers.
Chances should be plentiful at either end again when the Seagulls land at Elland Road on Saturday, and that in turn makes the over 2.5 goals and both teams to score a combination worth backing.
Leeds made home advantage count in successive wins against Newcastle and Burnley however, and our 3-2 correct score prediction tips the hosts to eventually outgun a win-shy Brighton outfit.
