  • Bryson DeChambeau is favored at +750 to win The Masters 2020.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Masters will be kicking off on Thursday, November 12, but sports bettors hoping to bet on 2017 Masters Champion Sergio Garcia are getting bad news.

Garcia has tested positive for COVID-19 and has announced he will not be participating in the Major Championship event. This is his first time missing a Major Championship event in 21 years.

Despite his absence, however, sports bettors will have plenty of action for the Masters. The Masters’ bettors will have plenty of action for the Major Championship event.

Garcia Sits Out

Sergio Garcia is a prominent figure in the professional golf scene and was surely receiving plenty of action prior to the Masters. His positive test results and subsequent announcement of not participating shocked both the golf world and golf bettors.

Garcia was just coming off of a Sanders Farm Championship victory last month. The pro golfer was on a streak of 84 consecutive championship events played dating all the way back to 1999 when he was 19 years old.

Although it will be odd to not have the decorated champion this go around, sports bettors are still taking heavy action on the Masters, with most leaning in favor of Bryson DeChambeau to win.

Odds To Win The Masters 2020

  • Bryson DeChambeau +750
  • Dustin Johnson +900
  • Jon Rahm +1000
  • Justin Thomas +1100
  • Rory McIlroy +1200
  • Xander Schauffele +1400
  • Brooks Koepka +1600
  • Patrick Cantlay +2500
  • Bubba Watson +2800
  • Hideki Matsuyama +2800
  • Patrick Reed +2800
  • Tony Finau +2800
  • Tyrrell Hatton +2800

DeChambeau has won the PGA tour seven times, placed T21 in the Masters’ Tournament in 2016, and won the 2020 US Open. It is no surprise that the golfer is the heavy favorite.

Sports bettors looking at underdog betting should also look at Jon Rahm. Although Rahm has not claimed victory in any of the major championships, he has been consistently placed high, including coming in fourth in the 2018 Masters Tournament.

If there is any betting line for longshot betting that should be getting attention at legal sports betting sites, it should be Rahm.

It’s worth noting that in 2017, Sergio Garcia came into the tournament with odds of +3000 so any one of these world-class golfers has a fair shot to win the entire tournament.

The 2020 Masters is gearing up to be a major event for sports bettors and golf fans alike. Although Garcia will be a missed figure, the event will have plenty of action throughout.
