NBA Betting Preview: Golden State Warriors vs. Milwaukee Bucks – Friday, Dec. 25, 2020

The first of five games on Christmas Day will see the Milwaukee Bucks hosting the Golden State Warriors. Both teams suffered a loss in their season openers on Wednesday night, and each team will be focused to deliver a Christmas present to their fans.

The Golden State Warriors suffered a 125-99 loss to the Brooklyn Nets in their season opener on Wednesday night, and they fell behind early. Milwaukee suffered a 122-121 loss to the Boston Celtics after mounting a furious comeback in the fourth quarter.

Golden State Warriors Betting Preview: Warriors Still Shorthanded

The Golden State Warriors will be without Klay Thompson for the entire season, and Draymond Green is set to miss his second straight game on Friday. Golden State still has Stephen Curry, but this leaves the Warriors extremely shorthanded.

Curry had 20 points and 10 assists in the season-opening loss, but defenses will focus on him as he doesn’t have a ton of help. Rookie center James Wiseman was impressive on Wednesday, pitching in with 19 points and six rebounds.

Finding a way to stop Giannis Antetokounmp will also be a problem for the Warriors without Draymond Green in the lineup. The Warriors should be better on the offensive end of the floor in this one, but defense is a mystery.

Milwaukee Bucks Betting Preview: Offense Not a Problem For Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have been the best offensive team in the NBA over the last two seasons, and it looks like that trend will continue this year. Milwaukee was able to put up 121 points in the Wednesday night loss, and this team can really shoot.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 35 points and 13 rebounds in the loss, and he looked like he was already in mid-season form. Forward Khris Middleton chipped in with 27 points and 14 rebounds, and that duo will look to lead again on Friday morning.

The Bucks made 14 three-pointers in the season-opening loss, but this team also needs to find a way to be better on the defensive end of the floor. Giving up over 120 points is a recipe for disaster for this team.

Warriors vs. Bucks Betting Odds & Lines

This game has the biggest spread of all five Christmas Day games, and things look good for the home team. Both teams are looking to pick up their first win, but it is the Bucks that are large favorites on Friday morning.

MyBookie has the Milwaukee Bucks as 9.5-point favorites over the Golden State Warriors in the first game of the day.

Milwaukee is the far superior team in this matchup, but it’s hard to ever count out Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Golden State won’t be able to pull off this upset, but they are going to keep this game within single digits.
