New Jersey Online Revenue Continues Rise in December

This week the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement published the December 2020 financials, noting that revenues were up 8.9% for the period.

Punters in New Jersey bet $996.3 million on sports during the month, with revenues coming in at $66.4 million, up 125.6% from December of 2019. $929.3 million of that total was bet online, with $67 million bet at retail spots. FanDuel and PointsBet led the way with $33.2 million in sports revenue, while Resorts Digital and DraftKings was second with $15.4 million. The Borgata was in third place with $7.5 million.

Online casino revenues were $99.5 million for the month, up 101.6% from December 2019. Slot revenues came in at $96.4 million, while online poker rake was $3 million.

New Jersey has served as the poster child for success in the United States online betting market. The state has a population of about 10 million people, providing a stable base for betting and generating healthy revenues for casinos as well as tax money for the Garden State’s coffers.
