We are coming off a weekend in the NFL that delivered a bunch of twists and turns, all of which has made the playoff races even more interesting than they already were. The AFC is beginning to tighten up at the top after the Steelers dropped their second straight game. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints lost their grip on the top seed in the NFC with a stunning loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The jockeying for position is shifting into high gear as we head into the final three weeks of the season. Are we going to see some more surprises before the playoffs roll around? At this point, I wouldn’t bet against it. For now, let’s take a look at Week 15 and make some SU picks so you can bet on their NFL odds.
NFL Betting | Straight-Up Picks for Week 15 of the 2020 Season
Las Vegas Raiders over LA Chargers
A season that began with so much promise is beginning to fall apart for the Las Vegas Raiders. They have now lost 3 of their last 4 games, falling to 7-6 and seeing their playoff hopes take a serious hit in the process. The Chargers come into this game on the heels of a loss to the Atlanta Falcons, a game they were favored to win. They are now just 4-9 on the season and looking like a team that needs some work in the offseason. This is a game that looks like a coin flip, but with the Raiders still clinging to life in the playoff race, you do get the sense that they may be up for this one a little more. Let’s also not forget that the Chargers are now winless in their last 5 games on the road. I think the Raiders come up with a win to keep their slim postseason chances alive.
Chicago Bears over Minnesota Vikings
With their loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 13, a game that they looked to have in the bag, the Chicago Bears fell into a 6-game losing skid. At that point, it would have been easy for them to fold and just play out the rest of the season. They bounced back in a big way over the weekend, though, hammering the Houston Texans 36-7. No-one in Chicago is getting carried away with a lone win, but the Bears did look really good in that one. The Vikings saw a modest 2-game win streak, albeit against teams with losing records, come to an end with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the weekend. The Bears lost to the Vikings on the road earlier this season, but I think they get revenge here as a slight underdog.
Miami Dolphins over New England Patriots
It has been strange to see the New England Patriots struggle this season, although you also have to say that it was not totally unexpected. If they lose to the Miami Dolphins this weekend, they will be officially eliminated from playoff contention, although that is coming sooner rather than later even if they do win. For the Dolphins, they will be looking to bounce back after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs over the weekend. The Dolphins still have it all to play for, sitting at 8-5 and occupying the final playoff berth in the AFC. The Dolphins lost 21-11 to the Patriots in the opening week of the season, but a lot has changed since then, which is why I like Miami to win this weekend.
