NFL Super Bowl LV Betting Props: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021

Super Bowl LV features the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in one of the most highly-anticipated championship matchups in recent memory. Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and company are looking to become the first repeat champs since the Patriots in 2003-04, while Tom Brady is on a quest for his seventh Lombardi Trophy in his first season with Tampa Bay.

The Chiefs are 3-point favorites on Sunday, but today we’re going to explore the best props available for the big game for both sides.

Kansas City Chiefs Prop Preview

Tyreek Hill 89.5 Receiving Yards

The Chiefs’ speedy wide receiver is unlikely to replicate his 269-yard performance he put up against the Bucs in November, hitting this over in the first quarter alone that day, but he’ll be a big part of the offense again. Hill went for 110 and 172 yards during KC’s run to the Super Bowl against the Browns and Bills, respectively and had 105 yards on a whopping 16 targets in last year’s title game against the 49ers. OVER

Patrick Mahomes 2.5 TDs / 41.5 Pass Attempts

This is much about the Bucs defense as it is Mahomes. Tampa allowed the fewest yards per carry, fewest rush yards, and forced their opponents into the highest percentage of pass plays in the NFL during the regular season. The Bucs have allowed just 11 touchdowns on the ground in their 19 regular season and playoff games this season.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP has yet to attempt 40 passes in the playoffs this year but did so 10 times during the regular season and tossed it 42 times in last year’s Super Bowl despite a balanced offensive attack. OVER ON BOTH

Travis Kelce 7.5 Receptions

The Chiefs’ tight end may have only gone over this number four times in his 11 career playoff games, but he’s eclipsed it in both postseason games this year and three of his last five. Against Buffalo and Cleveland, Kelce went for a combined 21 catches on 26 targets. The volume is there and the production will be there Sunday as we are also projecting Kelce to go OVER 0.5 touchdowns in this matchup as he has 7 touchdowns in his last two playoff runs. OVER

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prop Preview

Tom Brady 0.5 Interceptions

Brady is defying father time but not without the occasional flaw. The 43-year old threw three picks against the Packers in the NFC Championship and has thrown an interception in 23 of 44 career playoff games, including five out of nine Super Bowls he’s played in. Kansas City’s defense forced an interception in 13 of their 18 games this season, including two by Brady in their regular-season meeting. OVER

MVP Longshot

If all of the above props hit, you might be inclined to think the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl going away. However, we’re projecting an outright win by the Buccaneers inside their home stadium. Chances are, if the Bucs win, Brady takes home the hardware. But if he throws an interception (or two), that could leave the door open for one of his teammates. And there is tremendous value on LB Devin White at +8000. White led the team in tackles in the regular season and in the playoffs despite missing the WIld Card game. He was second on the team in sacks and also forced and recovered a fumble. Lavonte David could try to steal tackles (and votes) from his partner in crime, but the value is too good to pass up to not toss a couple shekels on.
