The Grade III, $100,000 Athenia Stakes will run as Race 9 on the October 25th card at Belmont Park.
The event for 3-year-old and up fillies and mares will cover 1 1/16 miles on turf and include names like Sweet Bye and Bye, Call Me Love, and Mitchell Road among the field of eight.

The morning-line favorite coming in at 3/1 is Joseph Imbesi’s Sweet Bye and Bye. The 5-year-old mare from Sky Mesa is trained by Anthony Dutrow.

Last time out, she took third in the September 26th Noble Damsel Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park, where she registered a 111 Speed Figure. Her other 2020 run was a fourth-place effort in the January 11th Mashua’s River Stales (G3) at Gulfstream Park.
Sweet Bye and Bye will break from Post 6 under jockey Jose Lezcano.
Another top entrant among the field is the 7/2 Call Me Love, owned by R. Unicorn Stable. The 4-year-old Sea the Stars filly is trained by Christophe Clement.
She is 5-2-3 from 12 career starts and has earnings of $469,821. In 2020, she has two seconds from four outings.
Her most recent performance was a fifth-place finish in the August 23rd Diana Stakes (G1) at Saratoga, which followed a runner-up effort in the July 25th Ballston Spa Stakes (G2) at the track. The filly also took fourth in the June 27th New York Stakes (G2) and second in the June 3rd Beaugay Stakes (G3) at Belmont.
Call Me Love will break from Post 2 under Joel Rosario.

Also among the field is the 9/2 Mitchell Road, owned by Mrs. Shields and E. J. M McFadden Jr. The 5-year-old mare from English Channel is trained by Bill Mott.
She has a career record of 7-6-0 from 17 starts and earnings of $599,893. In 2020, she has one win and three seconds from six races.
She is coming off a runner-up finish in the September 12th Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes (G3) at Kentucky Downs. The victory came in the July 5th Ellis Park Turf Stakes (Black Type) at Ellis Park, and she finished second in the February 15th Albert M. Stall Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds.
Mitchell Road will break from Post 1 under Luis Saez.
