Thursday’s Football Tips: Not Gunner be Too Easy for Arsenal

Manchester City are loitering with intent in third place in the Premier League following a 1-0 home win over Brighton.

The win moved them just one point behind defending champions Liverpool and four behind rivals Manchester United with a game in hand and Pep Guardiola could be the biggest beneficiary of the clash between those two on Sunday.

Spurs’ home form tripped them up again as they failed to hold on to the lead against Fulham, missing the chance to move in to the top four. Remarkably it was Fulham’s fifth consecutive draw in the Premier League and sixth in all competitions.

The weather defeated Livingston v Aberdeen once more, this time it was a waterlogged pitch that forced a controversial late call-off.

Punters were left cursing short-priced favourites Juventus and Bayern Munich who were both taken to extra-time in their respective cup competitions. Juve prevailed but Bayern fell to a shock penalty shoot-out defeat to Holstein Kiel from the German second tier.

Well done to Macca and Andy who were among the winners on the site on another tricky one for punters.

Thursday’s Tips

The thirst for live matches on TV at least gives us something to focus on on another wise quiet Thursday and it’s Arsenal and Crystal Palace in the spotlight at the Emirates.

The Gunners are edging towards putting a run of form together. They’ve now won three in a row in the league and with Palace and Newcastle visiting in the next five days they’ll have their eyes on another six points from thier next two outings. They’ve failed to beat Palace in the last four meetings so it might not all be plain sailing for Mikel Arteta’s men.

KevMac has penned his preview and offers up three bets for the match;
